What is above mentioned is shown through a coxofemoral joint dynamic study.

INCONGRUENCE

The radiologic signs which can be perceived through an radiograph are the degrees of articular laxity, which can vary from the minimum degrees of sub-dislocation to complete dislocation of the head of the femur and remodelations.

As time goes by, samples with the radiologic signs above mentioned, will show an image of arthrosis.

REMODELATION

REMODELATION

3D image of computerized tomography

The neck of femur is engrossed due to osseous neoformation , the line of Morgan can be shown as well as exostosis. The acetabulum loses depth and osseous neoformation appears, exostosis.

The head of femur loses its spherical shape, is flattened, and presents a deformation with the shape of a mushroom or jellyfish.

The quality of diagnosis will be ensured by the radiologic technique and correct positioning. (Measurement with Norberg angle). For the diagnosis breed differences and the age of the dog must also be taken into account.

Errors in pelvis and legs positioning and low technical quality are considered to be unsatisfactory for diagnosis.
