Small Animal Endoscopy

A) Basic Flexible Endoscopy - May 22-24, 1999

Introduction to endoscopy including indications, endoscopic instrumentation, techniques for examining the upper and lower GI tract, and foreign body retrieval, plus a 7-hour wet lab to provide hands-on experience. Presented by Dr. Todd Tams

Laboratory Sessions

To keep the size of the laboratory sessions to a size that will benefit all participants, sessions will be offered as follows:

  • 1st lab session Sunday, May 23 offered to first 15 people to register.
  • Repeated lab session Monday, May 24 offered to additional people above 15 (min. 5, max. 15).

 

(B) Intermediate Flexible Endoscopy - May 25, 1999

This is a 1-day course (lecture, demonstration, & laboratory session) on intermediate endoscopy techniques including canine airway exam, additional experience in gastrointestinal examination, and foreign body retrieval. This lab will also include gastrointestinal examination of cats and placement of a peg tube.

(C) Rigid Endoscopy - May 26, 1999

This is a 1-day course (lecture, demonstration & laboratory session) on rigid endoscopy including laparoscopy, cystoscopy, rhinoscopy, and thoracoscopy.
